Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks proclaimed September 2, 2009 John W. Oberlies Day, to express her sincerest appreciation for all the Pluta Cancer’s CEO has accomplished during his tenure on the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership Board.

Appointed chairman of the board in 2006, John's strong leadership, enthusiasm and passion have greatly improved Monroe County's economic vitality and quality of life according to the proclamation. He has been instrumental in preserving urban neighborhoods, advocating for the coordination of community resources, maximizing the impact of public and private funding, and shaping public policy regarding housing and its development. The Pluta Cancer Center congratulates John on this wonderful honor.
