Pluta Cancer Center is currently recruiting for two positions: Director, Finance and Chemotherapy RN.

Job Title: Director, Finance

Position Summary
Directs, administers, and manages the fiscal operation and financial affairs of the Center in accordance with Center policies, pertinent laws, rules, and regulations. Duties include development of operational procedures that meet related local, state and federal regulations, define standards of service and ensure internal controls to monitor efficiency and effectiveness. As a key member of the leadership team, participates in long range planning, forecasting and evaluation of the center’s fiscal health, stability and opportunities for growth.

Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration plus a minimum of three years experience in accounting—healthcare accounting is STRONGLY preferred OR a combination of education and experience, which in the judgment of the CEO indicates ability to adequately perform responsibilities of the position. Experience with healthcare reimbursements and payers strongly desired.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures general ledger and related work papers are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and funding source requirements. Retains records for audit purposes as required by regulation and center policy.
  • Primary responsibility for preparation of financial information for external or internal audits of the agency’s financial records.
  • Prepares monthly management and fiscal reports with analysis for review with the CEO including, but are not limited to, reports required for presentation to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Prepares additional reports and analysis as needed and/or required by the CEO and the Center’s independent auditing firm.
  • Assists the CEO and designated members of the leadership team in the analysis of employee benefits, insurance coverage, investing/borrowing activities, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all required fiscal reporting and code requirements as dictated by IRS, federal, state Medicaid programs, and other certifying bodies to which the agency reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate internal control environment and proper segregation of duties and functions.
  • Is supervised by and reports directly to the CEO. Provides information and updates to the CEO about problems, issues, and concerns on an ongoing basis.
  • Reviews and approves payroll register prior to payroll checks being distributed to employees.
  • Receives bank statements unopened and reviews the checks and statements for unusual items. Reviews and approves bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for managing the Center’s debt for acquisition of property and equipment along with financing the ongoing operations of the agency.
  • Responsible for preparation of the Center’s annual budget, including coordinating with executive and program management the development of key assumptions used in the budget and presentation of the budget to the Center’s board of directors.
  • Adheres to Center’s policies and procedures and ensures that departmental policies and procedures manuals are maintained and updated on a regular basis.
  • Participates as a member of the Center’s Leadership Team.

Required Skills/Competencies

  • Demonstrated executive abilities and leadership skills necessary to command support and respect of peers and Center employees.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and computer experience including spreadsheets and internet.

Job Title: Chemotherapy RN

Position Summary
Pluta Cancer Center is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity in the Chemotherapy Room. The position reports to the Director of Nursing. We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, organized team player. He/she needs excellent IV skills; completion of the ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy course; OCN certification a plus but not mandatory. Familiar with IV and oral chemotherapy administration. The position requires mixing of chemotherapy - will provide on-the-job training. Must have current NYS RN license.
