Lake Country Woodworkers, a Naples, N.Y.-based manufacturer of high-end executive commercial and residential office furnishings, has donated a custom-made wooden bench to Pluta Cancer Center. Karen Wood, managing partner of Lake Country Woodworkers, decided to donate a bench after a tour of the facility with Pluta Cancer Center President and CEO Kelly McCormick-Sullivan and Tony Mangione, a Pluta supporter.
“During our tour, I was inspired by the warmth and compassion of Pluta Cancer Center and wanted to do something to give back,” said Wood. “We are pleased to contribute to Pluta’s comforting atmosphere by providing this handmade bench that patients and their loved ones can use everyday.”
Ben Hiebech and Doug Harris of Lake Country Woodworkers designed the bench specifically for Pluta Cancer Center. The Pluta logo was hand carved out of veneers and then dyed a variety of colors, a process that took more than 15 hours to complete.
“We are extremely thankful for the gracious donation Lake Country Woodworkers has made and all of the time and energy they put into crafting this beautiful bench,” said McCormick-Sullivan. “Located in our main lobby, the bench is one of the first impressions people have when they visit, and it is a wonderful addition to our Center."
